The Northern Virginia Center for Contemporary Craft is dedicated to the innovation of traditional crafts, such as woodworking, metalworking, blacksmithing, pottery and more. The NoVAC3 takes a holistic approach to advancing craft through a mix of educational and economic initiatives.
The NoVAC3 takes its role as a caretaker of traditional crafts seriously. To do so, we will create a robust education program available for young people looking to enter a variety of industries and craft traditions, as well as retail-manufacturing space for maker-business and studio space for individual makers.
Great makers embrace both tradition and innovation. Makers always push the boundaries with materials, processes and products while retaining the basic lessons of tradition: a commitment to quality, purpose and culture. NoVAC3 doesn't just advance a set of skills or techniques - it advances a maker movement.
